About Us

Our History

The Deer Harbor Community Club (DHCC) is located on Orcas Island, Washington. The historic DHCC building was built in 1905 and is listed on the Washington Heritage Register. It served as the Deer Harbor schoolhouse until 1925 and has been the home of the community club since 1920, the year the club was established. Membership donations go toward building upkeep, maintenance, and repairs.

Monthly Potluck

A community potluck, open to everyone (member or non-member), is held on the second Friday of each month, starting at 6:30 p.m. (no potlucks in July and August). Membership includes a substantial discount on hall rental.

Potlucks are suspended until further notice.

Due to the COVID-19 situation, the DHCC board has suspended the monthly potluck until it is deemed safe. If you'd like to be notified when potlucks start up again, please subscribe to our mailing list.

Facility and Parking Lot Rental

The building and the parking lot is available for weddings and other events, such as community or religious gatherings, classes and workshops, concerts, dances, club meetings, and family reunions. A full non-commercial kitchen, ample parking, and other amenities are included.

Deer Harbor Post Office

Thanks to the many donations from our generous island community, the Deer Harbor Post Office building was purchased by DHCC in 2009. The mortgage was paid off in August 2015.
